Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, 20 de Abril's goalkeeper Mané Netto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. In the 9th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro de Mendonça in the 10th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Valdo Toscano came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mané Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 14th minute of the match. Mané Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 17th minute of play. The supporters of 20 de Abril booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. But to his dismay, Valdo Toscano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 29 minutes into the game, Lucas Arboleda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 20 de Abril's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. The supporters of Venezuela booed when 20 de Abril was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Arboleda didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdo Toscano in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44th minute of the match, Patricio Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mané Netto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Mané Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Valdo Toscano sent off a good shot on target. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. After 90 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. In the 96th minute Robinho Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
