Venezuela's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 37 minutes into the match, Acheral's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Danilo Urbasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 38 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. In the 41st minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Danilo Urbasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Rufio Abalos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Toro Cavenaghi was the one to do the kick off. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Vivien Beaurepaire in the 51 minute of the game. Toro Cavenaghi came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jonathan Ferrant could save by the left post. Many of Acheral's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Acheral may have spent more time on the ball, but Venezuela were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
