The Ulan Bator Football Club fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Ulan Bator Football Club's Jérémy Doku looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Ulan Bator Football Club booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jérémy Doku, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jérémy Doku in the 19th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jérémy Doku in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jérémy Doku in the 23rd minute of the match. Ball Packert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Ulan Bator Football Club's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jérémy Doku, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the last second Julio Vera throw himself and got hold of the ball when Jérémy Doku in the 32ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After 34 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Stephan Vanneste who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ulan Bator Football Club's Kieth Hacke to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jérémy Doku, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ball Packert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Ball Packert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mattheo Smeulders got free with Julio Vera in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. After 53 played minutes, Ulan Bator Football Club's Roy Debrouwere shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ulan Bator Football Club reached it. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mattheo Smeulders in the 56th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jérémy Doku in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 59 minutes into the match, Ulan Bator Football Club's Jérémy Doku sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ulan Bator Football Club's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ball Packert came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute Jérémy Doku shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jérémy Doku had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kieth Hacke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 73rd minute Jérémy Doku shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jérémy Doku in the 74th minute of play. Ulan Bator Football Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stephan Vanneste in the 75th minute. The corner led Ulan Bator Football Club's Stephan Vanneste to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Jérémy Doku came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stephan Vanneste received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jérémy Doku struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ulan Bator Football Club. Ulan Bator Football Club's Toon Teunens was substituted for Jérémy Doku. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toon Teunens, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Toon Teunens came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 96 minutes into the game, Ulan Bator Football Club's Toon Teunens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ulan Bator Football Club.
