Mattheo Smeulders sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 46th minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stephan Vanneste took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. After 75 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kieth Hacke in the 84th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes into the game, Jérémy Doku cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ulan Bator Football Club's Toon Teunens was substituted for Jérémy Doku. Ulan Bator Football Club's Jarno Depelsmaker was substituted for Willy Smidts. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ulan Bator Football Club had won after a very even match.
