In the 13th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Turgay Habiboğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ahmet Hamdi Reyyan fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Turco's protests and gave Ahmet Hamdi Reyyan a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes El Turco got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Hamdi Reyyan. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Beşir Şahdar in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the game, Camilo Gaos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Turco the free kick. In the 24th match minute, El Turco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by May Kropotov to maneuver through the defense. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Turgay Habiboğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute of the game May Kropotov made a throw-in which Beşir Şahdar played forward. A collision led to El Turco getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. May Kropotov hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Van Beets came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When May Kropotov fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Turco's protests and gave May Kropotov a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes El Turco got a freekick which was hit by May Kropotov. Dmitriy Bumagin struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Turco. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beşir Şahdar made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Beşir Şahdar in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Alan Van Beets stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Alan Van Beets tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the match, Beşir Şahdar notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nunez Suarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alan Van Beets in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Nunez Suarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the game, Beşir Şahdar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nunez Suarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute of the match, Tomas Illescas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Turgay Habiboğlu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nunez Suarez in the 92nd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Van Beets, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 97th minute, Nunez Suarez made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0.
