A well-hit corner resulted in Jose Correa heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 18 minutes into the match, Acid Drinkers's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Tolek Jaroszewicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Acid Drinkers's goalkeeper Tolek Jaroszewicz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Acid Drinkers booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball.
