When Rafal Jakubiak came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Chelsea Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafal Jakubiak couldn't finish the play. 24 minutes into the match, Rafal Jakubiak dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 2-0. An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by Rafal Jakubiak got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Rafal Jakubiak might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rafal Jakubiak ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 30th minute, Rafal Jakubiak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blas Guzman in the 33rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Shi Sheng Ying kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Rafal Jakubiak in the 41stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Chelsea Football Club booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Benedicto Havier in the 46th minute really tested Jonathan Ferrant's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 47th minute, Blas Guzman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Uriel Ralondo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blas Guzman in the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Tomas Illescas fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Benedicto Havier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Chelsea Football Club's Firme Verga was substituted for Blas Guzman. Chelsea Football Club's Silvestre Porfiro was substituted for Rafal Jakubiak. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvestre Porfiro in the 68th minute of play. Silvestre Porfiro scored 5-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvestre Porfiro in the 78th minute of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Silvestre Porfiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. 87 minutes into the game, Robert Rojas threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Patricio Costa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvestre Porfiro in the 89th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
