Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mühendisbey the free kick. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 12th match minute, Mühendisbey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erdinç Eryiğit to maneuver through the defense. Mustafa Necati Yürük's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mustafa Necati Yürük helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mühendisbey getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Mustafa Necati Yürük hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Björn Gernberg saved Mühendisbey from getting behind. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 27th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 minutes, Hasret Acunalp mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mühendisbey and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hasret Acunalp hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Nazım Karahan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Björn Gernberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mühendisbey's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Ahmet Hafiz Akıncıbeyoğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ahmet Hafiz Akıncıbeyoğlu came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Mühendisbey fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Hafiz Akıncıbeyoğlu couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ahmet Hafiz Akıncıbeyoğlu to strike the kick off in the second half. If Ahmet Hafiz Akıncıbeyoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mühendisbey's Erdinç Eryiğit pulled a muscle in his leg after 71 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Tomas Illescas was shown his second yellow card after 71 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Mühendisbey's Evaristo Nel was substituted for Erdinç Eryiğit. Tomas Illescas hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Nazım Karahan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. The throw-in from Hasret Acunalp in the 81st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Alex Chicote. In the 83rd minute, Nazım Karahan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mühendisbey fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 89th minute. After 92 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Gisbert. Mühendisbey's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
