In the 7th minute, Renan Correia fired a really elegant long shot, but Dante Lacasa threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when César Lucas tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 19th minute of play forced Matanza and Steelers's goalkeeper Renan Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Renan Mendes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lautaro Mancebo went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Renan Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimmy Örtendal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Jimmy Örtendal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Renan Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 37th minute of the match. In the 38th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renan Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulrico Herzog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ulrico Herzog made a kick off. Jimmy Örtendal took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 61 minutes into the match, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Renan Mendes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron Tello in the 65th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matanza and Steelers's Renan Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Matanza and Steelers from getting a goal against them. Matanza and Steelers's Wiliam Peixoto was substituted for Aaron Tello. In the 68th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Luca Zorita advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-2 in the 68th minute. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Renan Mendes made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Leysus Oktavianus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matanza and Steelers's supporters rose to their feet, but Leysus Oktavianus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Renan Mendes made a huge save. Wiliam Peixoto scored 2-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Renan Mendes made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. After 91 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Felix Luque. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mexico were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
