Peter Oldenborger came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Sebastiaan Middeljans kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Sebastiaan Middeljans's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. MK Investments's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sebastiaan Middeljans in the 15th minute. Peter Oldenborger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Oldenborger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastiaan Middeljans in the 27th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when MK Investments was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerard Lever didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, MK Investments's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Peter Oldenborger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd minute, Sebastiaan Middeljans reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 37th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Peter Oldenborger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastiaan Middeljans stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Oldenborger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. MK Investments's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Daniel Zorita 55 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. Peter Oldenborger was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. Dennis Wegman charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dennis Wegman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dennis Wegman kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute, Olaf Degens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Oldenborger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 71st minute of the match. After 73 minutes, Gerard Lever mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MK Investments and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastiaan Middeljans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Peter Oldenborger. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastiaan Middeljans in the 91st minute of play. With 91 minutes on the clock, Juan Sebastián Puig commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 90th minute. Penalty! Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastiaan Middeljans, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Olaf Degens charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olaf Degens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when MK Investments was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olaf Degens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
