Matanza and Steelers's Renan Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 9th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aaron Tello. 21 minutes into the game, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Renan Mendes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leysus Oktavianus in the 27th minute of play. But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimmy Örtendal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the game, Matanza and Steelers's Aaron Tello nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Matanza and Steelers's Renan Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Matanza and Steelers's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Renan Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Matanza and Steelers booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Rouco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Mexico were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Renan Mendes in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from César Lucas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Renan Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Renan Correia fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matanza and Steelers's protests and gave Renan Correia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd match minute, Matanza and Steelers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renan Correia to maneuver through the defense. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
