Gelse's Lajos Bíró played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateo Leguizamo in the 8th minute of play. Moises Fernandino struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Lajos Bíró didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Salvador. Illés Dudás kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Lajos Bíró took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moises Fernandino made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moises Fernandino got free with Lajos Bíró in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 53 minutes into the game, El Salvador's Moises Fernandino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lajos Bíró made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. In the 57th match minute, Gelse was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tamás Benedek to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abram Luque during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Gelse booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abram Luque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roland Szigeti hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Moises Fernandino made a precise shot to the right of Lajos Bíró. Gelse's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Roland Szigeti blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Zorita having to make a save. El Salvador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
