After 3 played minutes Gröne Jägarens BK got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar Wallin. Thanks to some nice moves Niclas Ugla could shoot a difficult shot in the 9th minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Gröne Jägarens BK's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Magnus Eriksson came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karl-Magnus Eriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl-Magnus Eriksson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 33rd minute Plácido Conde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Plácido Conde who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Karl-Magnus Eriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Plácido Conde got free with Julio Vera in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karl-Magnus Eriksson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The Gröne Jägarens BK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Plácido Conde to make the kick off. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Åke Vestberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niclas Ugla in the 58th minute of the match. When Camilo Gisbert fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Camilo Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Gröne Jägarens BK booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the game, Felix Montenegro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Karl-Magnus Eriksson. Felix Montenegro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Gröne Jägarens BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Skapti Kyrk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karl-Magnus Eriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 94th minute of play. After having played for 97 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
