After 36 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cássio Calçada who took care of the corner kick. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jānis Blūms, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in KINGS FC's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leal Simões came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leal Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 48th minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leal Simões quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The KINGS FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zoltán Tálas in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Calçada in the 77th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The KINGS FC fans' excitement grew in the 88th match minute when KINGS FC's Zoltán Tálas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zoltán Tálas in the 91st minute of play. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
