Lajos Bíró showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Pardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Jaime Pardo struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Lajos Bíró didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Illés Dudás's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Illés Dudás helped the player get up and apologised. Illés Dudás kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Gelse's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Lajos Bíró reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gelse's zone, Primitivo Escribano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lajos Bíró came out of the goal and Primitivo Escribano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lajos Bíró took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Covarrubias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jaime Pardo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Lajos Bíró skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some careless play in the Gelse defense, Raul Venegas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lajos Bíró. The Gelse fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lajos Bíró should have stopped the shot. Jaime Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Lajos Bíró made a huge save. In the 93rd minute, Illés Dudás hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tamás Benedek hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. When the match was over Paraguay could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gelse throughout the match.
