In the 9th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Youri Djorkaeff got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edmond Kubiak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. A collision led to Avel Vat getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Bilal Moutte hit a great ball. Guillaume Minier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Guillermo Mariano kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Danny Pasquier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. 32 minutes into the match, Avel Vat's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Danny Pasquier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Bilal Moutte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Youri Djorkaeff managed to get in a good position for a shot. Avel Vat's supporters rose to their feet, but Youri Djorkaeff was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Youri Djorkaeff to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Guillaume Minier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Avel Vat's supporters rose to their feet, but Guillaume Minier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 58 minutes, Guillaume Minier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Avel Vat and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Avel Vat's Guillaume Minier got a free kick in the 58th minute. After having played for 60 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillaume Minier, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Danny Pasquier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 64th minute of play. After 65 minutes, Patricio Costa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Avel Vat players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 65 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Youri Djorkaeff in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guillaume Minier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Youri Djorkaeff in the 70th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Avel Vat's goalie prevented a goal. In the 77th minute, Sébastien Milliot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Edmond Kubiak fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Avel Vat's protests and gave Edmond Kubiak a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Avel Vat's Edmond Kubiak got a free kick in the 81st minute. Sébastien Milliot got a throw-in 85 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Youri Djorkaeff. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Danny Pasquier when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 87 minutes of play Avel Vat's Bilal Moutte was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Bilal Moutte hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danny Pasquier was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Tomas Illescas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Illescas really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Venezuela walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
