When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Youri Djorkaeff made a kick off. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Danny Pasquier firmly grabbed it by the left post. 62 minutes into the game, Malcom Vrignon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Danny Pasquier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Émilien Tessier charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Émilien Tessier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Avel Vat's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Luis Andino sped through Avel Vat's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Danny Pasquier. Danny Pasquier made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Sébastien Milliot hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Avel Vat the free kick. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Avel Vat.
