Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Horácio Santos got the match started through his kick off. In the 2nd minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Maleta's Walmyr Matorin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. Fausto Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Puig, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Matorin in the 8th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlinhos Lopez in the 11th minute of the match. Hugo Ferrant's late challenge caught a Maleta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Ferrant helped the player get up and apologised. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Horácio Santos sent off a good shot on target. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Walmyr Matorin went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to Maleta getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Raphael de Sena hit a great ball. In the 30th minute of the match Axel Tasis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fausto Sá skillfully saved the ball. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Horácio Santos scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 3-0. Juan Rubio charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Rubio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Horácio Santos in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Walmyr Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlinhos Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 61 minutes into the match, Walmyr Matorin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walmyr Matorin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. José Augusto Koehler hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. When Lautaro Puig came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Puig couldn't finish the play. If Carlinhos Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 71 minutes, Walmyr Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maleta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmyr Matorin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlinhos Lopez in the 72nd minute of play. Walmyr Matorin scored 5-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Walmyr Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horácio Santos in the 83rd minute of play. A collision led to Maleta getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Tiago Gabriel Leme hit a great ball. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Fausto Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Maleta's goalkeeper Fausto Sá had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Puig. 93 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa threw the ball into play from the sideline. Maleta's Horácio Santos quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Walmyr Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Maleta had played much better football throughout.
