After 16 played minutes, U21 Wales's Caledvwich Keene shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Otto Zuidam came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in U21 Wales reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gruffen Gibson in the 21st minute of play forced Springplank FC's goalkeeper Otto Zuidam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taffy Finn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ferdi Reis in the 24th minute. Otto Zuidam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gwres Shrieve in the 28th minute of the match. Gruffen Gibson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute, Springplank FC's Marcus Tuhuteru dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Springplank FC's Otto Zuidam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celyn Armstrong in the 36th minute of play. Arnout Lembeck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Taffy Finn made a huge save. Taffy Finn was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Arnout Lembeck capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arnout Lembeck really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celyn Armstrong in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Otto Zuidam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marrock Loughnane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otto Zuidam having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Springplank FC's goal looked a bit too open when Celyn Armstrong came free, but Otto Zuidam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Marrock Loughnane fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Wales's protests and gave Marrock Loughnane a yellow card for diving instead. Marrock Loughnane kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. U21 Wales's Taffy Finn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnout Lembeck in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Mathieu Schophuis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Taffy Finn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdi Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute.
