After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Horácio Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Horácio Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Maleta's Walmyr Matorin in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Honduras's goalie prevented a goal. In the 62nd match minute, Maleta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlinhos Lopez to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute, Honduras's Luca Espinar ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fausto Sá. Fausto Sá yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Milagros Cabal hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 79 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Carvallo. 82 minutes into the game, Sebastian Villa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Fausto Sá was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 85 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Matorin came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Honduras booed when Maleta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlinhos Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Honduras's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
