Abdessalem Abdessalam was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaac Derwin in the 56th minute of play. With a little luck, Adab FC's Abdessalem Abdessalam got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Adab FC's goalkeeper Abdessalem Abdessalam, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Isaac Derwin might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ecuador walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
