Moises Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Celestino Columbo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Froilan Inguma during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 8th match minute, Villa Maria FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Froilan Inguma to maneuver through the defense. Celestino Columbo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute of the match Honduras got a corner. Villa Maria FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edmundo Espiga ran over to the corner to take the kick. Epifanio Platon's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Epifanio Platon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th match minute, Villa Maria FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Epifanio Platon to maneuver through the defense. Venancio Panpili did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Lautaro Navarro 20 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Venancio Panpili tried to sneak it across the goal line. Generoso Txema's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lautaro Navarro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 31st minute of play forced Villa Maria FC's goalkeeper Celestino Columbo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celestino Columbo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Villa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Honduras's defense didn't have a chance, in the 48th minute, when Robustiano Oihenarte scored to the left of an out of position Lautaro Navarro, making the score, 2-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. Fernan Soter kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robustiano Oihenarte's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Celestino Columbo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Generoso Txema scored 3-2 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Generoso Txema came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Villa Maria FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Generoso Txema couldn't finish the play. In the 71st minute, Luca Espinar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 74 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Generoso Txema came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Moises Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79thth minute of the game Sebastian Villa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villa Maria FC's Celestino Columbo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Oihenarte in the 82nd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Generoso Txema, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. After 88 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Ocampo. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Venancio Panpili managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa Maria FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Venancio Panpili was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 90 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Cabal. Villa Maria FC's Venancio Panpili got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Generoso Txema might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lautaro Navarro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Generoso Txema ran back to his position shaking his head. After 96 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Carvallo. When the referee blew the final whistle, Villa Maria FC could leave the field as winners, despite Honduras having more of the ball for most of the match.
