The corner ended in Samuel Melo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. When Adelino Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Jumeuc Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adelino Saldanha couldn't finish the play. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Paraíba having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Felix Montenegro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Emerson Paraíba. The goal made the score 0-2. In the 91st minute Francisco da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
