The audience thought a goal was coming when Zhao Yue Cheng got free with Julio Vera in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aki Guardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in LUIZ PANATO's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iuri das Neves came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when LUIZ PANATO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, LUIZ PANATO's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Iuri das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iuri das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 38th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 39th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zhao Yue Cheng to make the kick off. After 52 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Orlando Paraense who took care of the corner kick. Orlando Paraense made a great header on LUIZ PANATO's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. 55 minutes into the match, LUIZ PANATO's goalkeeper Iuri das Neves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Yue Cheng in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aki Guardo in the 72nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zhao Yue Cheng's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Tostão Reis hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iuri das Neves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of LUIZ PANATO booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 89 played minutes LUIZ PANATO got a freekick which was hit by Imet Naschekin. Zhao Yue Cheng struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LUIZ PANATO. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhao Yue Cheng in the 93rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
