Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cláudio Donatello took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of play forced Bem Bolado's goalkeeper José Maria Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Maria Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bem Bolado's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Cristian Sancho scored 1-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Maria Branco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. José Maria Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Bem Bolado's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but José Maria Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cláudio Donatello in the 32nd minute of the match. Marcelinho do Valle in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience was convinced that Cláudio Donatello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. José Maria Branco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador.

If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Maria Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 58th minute of play. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but José Maria Branco made a huge save. 65 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Maria Branco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Bem Bolado's Cláudio Donatello in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. José Maria Branco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute, Cláudio Donatello ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 82nd minute of the match Leopoldo Mandrak sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. In the 87th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of José Maria Branco. The goal made the score 2-2. After 95 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices.
