Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Joel Gaona kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 17th minute of play forced FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's goalkeeper Lucrețiu Sfetcu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Horia Chioreanu came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucrețiu Sfetcu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Tafalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lucrețiu Sfetcu having to make a save. Lucrețiu Sfetcu came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Lucrețiu Sfetcu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 30th minute of the match. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 31st minute. Basarab Panduru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Mancebo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Lucrețiu Sfetcu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucrețiu Sfetcu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kelly Nicholas hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basarab Panduru to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Kelly Nicholas hit a great ball. Mexico's Joel Gaona took a good shot, in the 53rd minute, which hit the crossbar above Lucrețiu Sfetcu's head, and flew over the goal. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Mexico. Lucrețiu Sfetcu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Facundo Cadaval ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lucrețiu Sfetcu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basarab Panduru in the 60th minute of the match. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Costin Malcoci was substituted for Horia Chioreanu. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Basarab Panduru during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt throughout the match.
