Julio Vera had great luck who in the 32ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Horia Chioreanu from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's goalkeeper Lucrețiu Sfetcu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Horia Chioreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucrețiu Sfetcu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucrețiu Sfetcu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. After 81 minutes FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Nasta in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Nasta in the 90th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Nasta, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After 92 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. When FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Costin Malcoci in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
