In the 10th match minute, SHIZUOKA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romulo Ledesma to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Policarpio in the 12th minute of play. If Sekou Mára had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Rogelio Policarpio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Rogelio Policarpio sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Cristobal Santiago despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rogelio Policarpios short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cristobal Santiago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute. In the 35th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. 38 minutes into the match, SHIZUOKA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Cristobal Santiago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SHIZUOKA FC's Cristobal Santiago played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 39th minute of play. Julio Vera stood somewhat misplaced when Rogelio Policarpio came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 42 minute. 48 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guaberto Lugo. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sekou Mára was slow to take the kick. During this time SHIZUOKA FC's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to SHIZUOKA FC getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. Guaberto Lugo hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Victorio Orlan made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victorio Orlan's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. In the 63rdth minute Felix Montenegro easily got through SHIZUOKA FC's defense and fired away a shot, but Cristobal Santiago leaped left and performed a fabulous save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dário Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Cristian Sancho took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Cristobal Santiago to make any attempt to save it. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Cristobal Santiago in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristobal Santiago made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Ecuador booed when SHIZUOKA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogelio Policarpio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dário Pinho's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. 88 minutes in the game, Cristian Sancho fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Cristobal Santiago having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Montenegro during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when SHIZUOKA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogelio Policarpio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but SHIZUOKA FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
