In the 12th match minute, FC Dream Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Castanheira to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 34thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Dream Team's Albino Oskarbi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 36 minutes, Jardel van Beek made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in FC Dream Team's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albino Oskarbi came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Flávio Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
