In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mira United FC's goalkeeper Eriberto Bonadona, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Mira United FC's Eriberto Bonadona got control of the ball when Milagros Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 27 minutes Mira United FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Eriberto Bonadona made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 29th minute. If Gregório Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xavier Severo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Gregório Neiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Gregório Neiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eriberto Bonadona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mira United FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Eriberto Bonadona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 63rd minute of the match. Peru were awarded a corner in the 65th minute after Mira United FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. 76 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eriberto Bonadona narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 78th minute of play forced Mira United FC's goalkeeper Eriberto Bonadona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 minutes of play, Peru's Rafael Gallo made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eriberto Bonadona was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eriberto Bonadona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Tenorio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Peru were the better team. Peru's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
