Arrigo Di Maria came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavon Murieta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xavon Murieta in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 67th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arrigo Di Maria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Arrigo Di Maria despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Uruguay Buceo B.F's Arrigo Di Maria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 75th minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Arrigo Di Maria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
