Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kunter Irmak, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After having played for 8 minutes, Kunter Irmak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DINAMO PLOIESTI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kunter Irmak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute, Kunter Irmak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zlatan Ibrahimov in the 30th minute of play. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, DINAMO PLOIESTI's Claudiu Ursu got a free kick in the 37th minute. After a defensive mix-up in DINAMO PLOIESTI's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos-Evangelista Didarov came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Bălanescu in the 40th minute of the match. When Claudiu Ursu fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DINAMO PLOIESTI's protests and gave Claudiu Ursu a yellow card for diving instead. Claudiu Ursu hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match.

Marcos-Evangelista Didarov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 53rd minute of play. With a little luck, DINAMO PLOIESTI's Marcos-Evangelista Didarov got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcos-Evangelista Didarov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Florentin Petre went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. DINAMO PLOIESTI's Claudiu Dragan was substituted for Zlatan Ibrahimov. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kunter Irmak in the 65th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Marcos-Evangelista Didarov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kunter Irmak in the 70th minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when George Bălanescu came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 74 minutes into the game, Kunter Irmak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcos-Evangelista Didarov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 81st minute. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos-Evangelista Didarov. Marcos-Evangelista Didarov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Lautaro Mancebo could shoot a difficult shot in the 89th minute, which Marcos-Evangelista Didarov however easily saved by the left post. The supporters of Mexico booed when DINAMO PLOIESTI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudiu Ursu didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the game, Sandu Geantă was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DINAMO PLOIESTI's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. In the 92nd minute, Sandu Geantă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
