Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Cameron Diaz made a huge save. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Cameron Diaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the SC Serrinho defense, Lautaro Mancebo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cameron Diaz. The SC Serrinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cameron Diaz should have stopped the shot. The Mexico supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mexico would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
