The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Daunte Simancas might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After 72 minutes of play, Uruguay Buceo B.F's Donostia Olvera made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. 80 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arrigo Di Maria narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daunte Simancas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Donostia Orbañanos hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donostia Olvera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute Xavon Murieta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
