Joel Gaona started the match with the kick off. 8 minutes into the match, Mercado Paulista F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Fernando Arquett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Macos Graciani's late challenge caught a Mercado Paulista F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Macos Graciani helped the player get up and apologised. After 17 played minutes Sebastian Jayvier scored with a long sweeping shot just to the left of Dante Lacasa who was too lazy, 1-1. Fernando Arquett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 20th minute of the match. If Amado Herensuge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Kent Lindberg sent off a good shot on target. In the 31st minute Mercado Paulista F.C were awarded a corner. Sebastian Jayvier went to the cornerflag to take it. Frans Larsfelt came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dante Lacasa could save by the left post. The supporters of Mercado Paulista F.C booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Macos Graciani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mercado Paulista F.C's Kent Lindberg got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Mercado Paulista F.C's Frans Larsfelt got a free kick in the 45th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Amado Herensuge kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dante Lacasa. That made the score 2-1 in the 47 minute of play. Mercado Paulista F.C's Cristian de Lima was substituted for Kent Lindberg. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Mercado Paulista F.C's Adolfo Jorrin quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Macos Graciani, made in the 58th minute of the game. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian de Lima in the 60th minute of play. During the 61st minute of the match Macos Graciani completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Macos Graciani a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 61 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Macos Graciani. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Joel Gaona hit a great ball. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Jayvier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Mercado Paulista F.C's Fernando Arquett got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 74th minute of play forced Mercado Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Fernando Arquett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Telo Estruch kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian de Lima in the 78th minute of the match. Luca Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Fernando Arquett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Mercado Paulista F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Fernando Arquett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Mercado Paulista F.C booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Gaona didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristian de Lima during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mexico booed when Mercado Paulista F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian de Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Mercado Paulista F.C had won, even though Mexico had held more of the ball.
