Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilio Machado in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Felix Donciu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 21st minute of the match. In the 25th minute Emilio Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A well placed Emilio Machado short distance shot in the 25th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. 30 minutes into the game, Emilio Machado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 34th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Donciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Emilio Machado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 40 minutes, Basílio Baiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Werneck FC - DMZ and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Felix Donciu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Patricio Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felix Donciu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Paulo Luz during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zé Paulo Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Joélson Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Werneck FC - DMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Joélson Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After a rather tough play, Werneck FC - DMZ's Şahap Hicab got a free kick in the 56th minute. With a little luck, Werneck FC - DMZ's Felix Donciu got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Werneck FC - DMZ booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Geraldo Dionísio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Machado in the 67th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emilio Machado went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Werneck FC - DMZ had won after a very even match.
