Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after San Nicolò Kings's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 16 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nedo Nadi. Franco Catucci didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. San Nicolò Kings's Franco Catucci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of play. Franco Catucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of the match. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Nicolò Kings's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Felix Montenegro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but San Nicolò Kings's Franco Catucci did a great save. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Nedo Nadi managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Nicolò Kings's supporters rose to their feet, but Nedo Nadi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Catucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davide Bertolini in the 44th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Franco Catucci made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 56th minute. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Felix Montenegro took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Franco Catucci to make any attempt to save it. 62 minutes into the match, Nedo Nadi notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Nedo Nadi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franco Catucci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 74 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franco Catucci narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Nedo Nadi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Franco Catucci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, San Nicolò Kings's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 86th minute, Nedo Nadi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Corrado Trevisani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Armando Frasco kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The San Nicolò Kings players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
