Ahmet Hayri Ilıcan's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ahmet Hayri Ilıcan helped the player get up and apologised. Ahmet Hayri Ilıcan hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Jaime Cazalla, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 31st minute, Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alex Arribas charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alex Arribas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Szymon Sochacki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Cazalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Madeiro's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Gisbert came free, but Szymon Sochacki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Demesio Barberá during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Szymon Sochacki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Víctor Rapado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert got a free kick in the 46th minute. When Maximiliano Escribano fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uruguay's protests and gave Maximiliano Escribano a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Madeiro booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximiliano Escribano didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Madeiro's José Pedro Dantas. But to his dismay, José Pedro Dantas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Francisco Seco might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Szymon Sochacki. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francisco Seco ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 62nd minute, Alex Arribas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Madeiro's Szymon Sochacki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Gisbert in the 68th minute of play. Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Demesio Barberá, made in the 73rd minute of the game. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Pedro Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Szymon Sochacki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Madeiro's Szymon Sochacki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Madeiro from getting a goal against them. Maximiliano Escribano's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Szymon Sochacki firmly grabbed it by the left post. Szymon Sochacki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Many of Uruguay's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Uruguay may have spent more time on the ball, but Madeiro were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
