Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of San Nicolò Kings's Franco Catucci. Franco Catucci was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nedo Nadi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute Nedo Nadi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Franco Catucci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franco Catucci narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franco Catucci prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Franco Catucci. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of play forced San Nicolò Kings's goalkeeper Franco Catucci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Franco Catucci breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Franco Catucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. Daniel Zorita scored 0-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franco Catucci, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Franco Catucci didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Nedo Nadi managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Nicolò Kings's supporters rose to their feet, but Nedo Nadi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Franco Catucci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Franco Catucci in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franco Catucci narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 68th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Nicolò Kings's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. In the 76th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Catucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th match minute, San Nicolò Kings was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camillo Stefano to maneuver through the defense. San Nicolò Kings made a substitution. April Kul replaced Davide Bertolini. The supporters of Ecuador booed when San Nicolò Kings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camillo Stefano didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by April Kul in the 81st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by San Nicolò Kings's Nedo Nadi. But to his dismay, Nedo Nadi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 90th minute. After recieving a nice pass, San Nicolò Kings's Nildo Sena tried to score from far away in the 91st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than San Nicolò Kings throughout the match.
