The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Crystals getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. In the 10th minute, Jóann Sindrason made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Kiljan Valbergsson came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henrý Reimarsson during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Crystals getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Henrý Reimarsson hit a great ball. Sváfnir Hásteinsson came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Honduras's Sebastian Villa. But to his dismay, Sebastian Villa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 19th minute, Sebastian Villa made a precise shot to the right of Sváfnir Hásteinsson. Crystals's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Sváfnir Hásteinsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 23rd minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Crystals's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Sváfnir Hásteinsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Honduras booed when Crystals was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jóann Sindrason didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sváfnir Hásteinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes in the game Grímar Björgvinsson did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Jóann Sindrason. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Tístran Bjargmundarson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Crystals players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Honduras were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Kiljan Valbergsson made the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jóann Sindrason, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Sváfnir Hásteinsson made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Edmundo Espiga sent off a good shot on target. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Kiljan Valbergsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Kiljan Valbergsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sváfnir Hásteinsson was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Crystals's zone, Sebastian Villa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sváfnir Hásteinsson came out of the goal and Sebastian Villa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th minute Christian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sváfnir Hásteinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kiljan Valbergsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luca Espinar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sváfnir Hásteinsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 76th minute. Sváfnir Hásteinsson was a little too slow when Moises Tafalla got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 1-3. Sebastian Villa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Sváfnir Hásteinsson made a huge save. If Kiljan Valbergsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luca Espinar hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiljan Valbergsson in the 93rd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Honduras left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Crystals.
