ErbaA KartaLı's Barışcan Özyurt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 36th minute of play. After 40 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Jose Sanz. 47 minutes into the match, Primitivo Escribano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Barışcan Özyurt, 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Balamir Demircioğlu to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Pardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barışcan Özyurt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Barışcan Özyurt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Paraguay had played much better football throughout.
