With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. Julian Murillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mehmet Kerem. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julian Murillo ran back to his position shaking his head. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chico Valadares, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Chico Valadares scored 0-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rolando Noboa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to . SC Manhattan . getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Frank de Boer hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the match, . SC Manhattan .'s goalkeeper Mehmet Kerem had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mehmet Kerem breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chico Valadares took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chico Valadares in the 52nd minute of the match. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Valadares in the 58th minute of play. Wilton Valladares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. In the 64th minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Kerem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Wilton Valladares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. After 86 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Alonso Berganza. Mehmet Kerem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Gallo in the 89th minute of play. Mehmet Kerem took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Gallo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lu Lin Kuan made in the 92nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. When Alonso Berganza fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Peru's protests and gave Alonso Berganza a yellow card for diving instead. Alonso Berganza hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Chants of . SC Manhattan . echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Peru had held the ball for most of the match.
