Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) 11 minutes into the match, UM Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Juan Gaitan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Juan Gaitan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Alex Bungescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the UM Timisoara defense, Felix Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan Gaitan. The UM Timisoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan Gaitan should have stopped the shot. Juan Gaitan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 minutes of play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juan Gaitan was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 33 minutes, Basarab Drăgoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UM Timisoara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basarab Drăgoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juan Gaitan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After a rather tough play, UM Timisoara's Alex Bungescu got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The supporters of UM Timisoara booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. The UM Timisoara players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Basarab Drăgoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paul Mirea in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Basarab Drăgoi might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basarab Drăgoi ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Juan Gaitan in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paul Mirea, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After 67 minutes UM Timisoara's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that UM Timisoara's Juan Gaitan managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, UM Timisoara's Basarab Drăgoi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, UM Timisoara's Juan Gaitan got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 75th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute of the match Yuri Mourato sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 80th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for UM Timisoara. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Mirea in the 82nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Mirea in the 86th minute of the match. When Primitivo Andino fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Primitivo Andino a yellow card for diving instead. UM Timisoara's Emanuel Dobrica was substituted for Ernest Oardă. 92 minutes into the match, UM Timisoara's Paul Mirea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than UM Timisoara.
