Hartlepool's Tim Lindqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Gaspar in the 7th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Alexandre Luz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tim Lindqvist was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexandre Luz made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Romando Futebol Clube's zone, Dennis Holmgren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ademar Campidelis came out of the goal and Dennis Holmgren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ademar Campidelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 minutes, Adriano Luz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Romando Futebol Clube and the Hartlepool players grew even worse after the yellow card.
