Tancredo Griful made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Alkis Bletsas sent off a good shot on target. Tancredo Griful showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alkis Bletsas, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 34 played minutes Sheriff got a freekick which was hit by Omiros Prikourakis. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paris Loukoumakis during the 38th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Sheriff made a substitution. Emmanouil Gialesakis replaced Odysseas Poursanidis. In the 54th minute Timo Palacios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefanos Vrettos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, Murcia Promesas's goal looked a bit too open when Zinon Psikos came free, but Tancredo Griful reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sheriff's Omiros Prikourakis got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Sheriff booed when Murcia Promesas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ariel Domenech didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramón Grau recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 80 minutes into the game, Ramón Grau was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Murcia Promesas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sheriff the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alkis Bletsas in the 83rd minute of play forced Murcia Promesas's goalkeeper Tancredo Griful to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zinon Psikos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tancredo Griful having to interfere. Stefanos Vrettos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Timo Palacios went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score.
