The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Munhoz in the 3rd minute of play forced C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's goalkeeper Edgar Gurlui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 4th match minute, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandu Paraschivescu to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th match minute, October 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durvalino Albuquerque to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the October 04 defense, Eugen Popeneciu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hamílton Rezende. The October 04 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hamílton Rezende should have stopped the shot. Hamílton Rezende made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Ovidiu Moțoc sent off a good shot on target. After 25 played minutes C Ａ R D I N Ａ L got a freekick which was hit by Sandu Paraschivescu. Geraldo Schmidt took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgar Gurlui. Edgar Gurlui dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Hamílton Rezende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugen Popeneciu in the 29th minute. The supporters of October 04 booed when C Ａ R D I N Ａ L was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marian Macrea didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Munhoz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Edgar Gurlui was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 33 played minutes October 04 got a freekick which was hit by Durvalino Albuquerque. In the 38th minute, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Iulian Ghionea ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hamílton Rezende. Hamílton Rezende yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Hamílton Rezende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iulian Ghionea in the 41st minute. 42 minutes into the match, October 04's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Popeneciu came free, but Hamílton Rezende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Iulian Ghionea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Hamílton Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ovidiu Moțoc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Sorin Chihaia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iulian Ghionea charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iulian Ghionea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 70 played minutes C Ａ R D I N Ａ L got a freekick which was hit by Iulian Ghionea. Hamílton Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sorin Chihaia in the 80th minute of the match. Hamílton Rezende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sorin Chihaia, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. A collision led to C Ａ R D I N Ａ L getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Sandu Onciu hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Geraldo Schmidt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edgar Gurlui. That made the score 3-3 in the 92 minute of play. Anderson Machado hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The whistle blew for the end of the second half and the match was still tied. The players were able to take a short break before lining up again for extra-time.

All the players looked a little tired when it was time for the first half of the overtime. It was October 04's Wesley Teles that got to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Valeriu Donecea got a free kick in the 102nd minute. Edgar Gurlui took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geraldo Schmidt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to C Ａ R D I N Ａ L getting a freekick after 113 minutes play. Sandu Paraschivescu hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wesley Teles in the 114th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgar Gurlui saved C Ａ R D I N Ａ L from getting behind.

When it was time for second half in the overtime, the players were a bit slow, but they soon became more alert when it was time for Sorin Chihaia to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodolfo Munhoz during the 128th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 128 played minutes October 04 got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Munhoz. In the 130th match minute, October 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabinho Falcão to maneuver through the defense. In the 131st minute of the match Eugen Popeneciu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hamílton Rezende skillfully saved the ball. In the 133rd minute, Sorin Unchiaşu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 134 minutes, the score became 3-4 when Wesley Teles sped through C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edgar Gurlui. The C Ａ R D I N Ａ L supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching October 04's performance. The match ended with a win for October 04.
