Spectators: 509 (Terracing: 382, Seating: 117, VIP seats: 10) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Genaro Aránguiz made the kick off which started today's match. A collision led to FC Lugano getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Chatmongkon Borvornpattarakomol hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Club Deportes La Serena's Nicanor Mellibosky tried to score from far away in the 7th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pornsak Seearamrungruang got free with Prudentio Telaeche in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Lugano's goalkeeper Dieter Gärtner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 18th minute Guido Emennegger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prudentio Telaeche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Prudentio Telaeche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulric Donsante in the 20th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulric Donsante in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Prudentio Telaeche prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pornsak Seearamrungruang got free with Prudentio Telaeche in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 28th minute, Yeray Federici hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Pornsak Seearamrungruang had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Prudentio Telaeche. Club Deportes La Serena's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pornsak Seearamrungruang was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. With 39 minutes on the clock, Fréderic Huerlimann commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Fréderic Huerlimann hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulric Donsante in the 43rd minute of play forced Club Deportes La Serena's goalkeeper Prudentio Telaeche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulric Donsante in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Prudentio Telaeche prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Chatmongkon Borvornpattarakomol charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chatmongkon Borvornpattarakomol the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 51 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Chatmongkon Borvornpattarakomol. Dieter Gärtner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yeray Federici, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Yeray Federici reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dieter Gärtner. The goal made the score 1-1. In the 72nd minute, Matteo Gartenmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geraldo Alcázar kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. After 76 played minutes Club Deportes La Serena got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Aránguiz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matteo Gartenmann in the 81st minute of play forced Club Deportes La Serena's goalkeeper Prudentio Telaeche to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, Matteo Gartenmann made a precise shot to the right of Prudentio Telaeche. Club Deportes La Serena's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After having played for 96 minutes, Matteo Gartenmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Lugano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matteo Gartenmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Club Deportes La Serena's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
