But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Willem-Jan Coussement couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joonatan Van Hallebeecke during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ulan Bator Football Club's Joonatan Van Hallebeecke got a free kick in the 16th minute. The supporters of Preator Edikt booed when Ulan Bator Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. The audience was convinced that Jimmie Eckegren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Glenn Roggen was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. After 39 minutes, Ronald Maeijnarts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ulan Bator Football Club and the Preator Edikt players grew even worse after the yellow card. Glenn Roggen came out of the goal and Hubert Fernström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dolf De Messemaecker made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Ove Ambjörnsson in the 53rd minute of play forced Ulan Bator Football Club's goalkeeper Glenn Roggen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Jimmie Eckegren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 75 minutes into the game, Arnold Haesevoets was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ulan Bator Football Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Preator Edikt the free kick. Arnold Haesevoets hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Rutger Holm kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Glenn Roggen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nils-Erik Sundberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
