A collision led to Olimpia HSB getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Dariusz Lizewski hit a great ball. In the 7th match minute, Olimpia HSB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ksawery Wozniak to maneuver through the defense. Jairo Madureira kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Reinaldo Marquez hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Arkadiusz Czajkowski took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdo Catarinense. Valdo Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Olimpia HSB's zone, Horácio Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Borys Mentus came out of the goal and Horácio Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice moves Ksawery Wozniak could shoot a difficult shot in the 27th minute, which Valdo Catarinense however easily saved by the left post. In the 30th minute Alberto Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borys Mentus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damian Grucza received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdo Catarinense came out and tried to block the shot, but Damian Grucza slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 33rd minute. The supporters of SORRISO E. C. booed when Olimpia HSB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dariusz Lizewski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olimpia HSB's Borys Mentus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Mendonça in the 42nd minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Alberto Mendonça made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Sousa. After 57 minutes Olimpia HSB's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vítor Sousa who took care of the corner kick. Ksawery Wozniak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdo Catarinense having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, SORRISO E. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Damian Grucza came free, but Valdo Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Mendonça who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Borys Mentus when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With an all-out effort, SORRISO E. C.'s Borys Mentus threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cláudio Couto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Horácio Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Borys Mentus having to interfere. Olimpia HSB's Jaroslaw Klewinski was substituted for Zbigniew Galagan. Olimpia HSB made a substitution. Lucjan Orling replaced Damian Grucza. Lucjan Orling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Valdo Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Trancoso in the 80th minute of play forced Olimpia HSB's goalkeeper Borys Mentus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the game, SORRISO E. C.'s Alberto Mendonça nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Borys Mentus made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Alberto Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Borys Mentus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Konrad Puch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdo Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arkadiusz Czajkowski in the 91st minute of play. After having played for 94 minutes, Arkadiusz Czajkowski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olimpia HSB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arkadiusz Czajkowski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucjan Orling in the 95th minute of play forced SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Valdo Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Valdo Catarinense made a fantastic save in the 101st minute, when Arkadiusz Czajkowski sent off a good shot on target. Cláudio Couto struck a weak shot in the 106th minute. Borys Mentus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SORRISO E. C.. Borys Mentus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Dariusz Lizewski fell near the penalty area in the 108th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olimpia HSB's protests and gave Dariusz Lizewski a yellow card for diving instead. In the 108th minute, Dariusz Lizewski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arkadiusz Czajkowski hit a great freekick 109 minutes into the match. In the 110th minute Alberto Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borys Mentus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. C.'s Reinaldo Marquez shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 129th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Borys Mentus but with some difficulty. In the 129th minute, Radomir Pryla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

In the 135th minute there was a penalty for SORRISO E. C.. Leopoldo Trancoso stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Borys Mentus. 3-3. Valdo Catarinense had in the 136thth minute some difficulties stopping Ksawery Wozniak's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The referee gave SORRISO E. C. a penalty, 138 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Horácio Pereira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Olimpia HSB's Borys Mentus. 3-4. In the 143rd minute there was a penalty for SORRISO E. C.. Vítor Sousa stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Borys Mentus. 5-6. The referee gave Olimpia HSB a penalty, 144 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Borys Mentus, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SORRISO E. C.'s Valdo Catarinense. 6-6. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SORRISO E. C. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
