In the 17th minute Totyo Brandiyski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnold Wyns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Yane Donkovski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mickael Theunis during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. FC Old Dogs United's Borimir Karadzhov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save FC Old Dogs United from getting a goal against them. After 29 minutes FC Old Dogs United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dries Dirckx who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Brugge United's Dries Dirckx to fire away a dangerous shot which Borimir Karadzhov despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Totyo Brandiyski notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Brugge United's Arnold Wyns. Arnold Wyns was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arnold Wyns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Totyo Brandiyski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Totyo Brandiyski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnold Wyns was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. 39 minutes into the game, Totyo Brandiyski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Arnold Wyns was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 94th minute, Lennert Van Meerbeec ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Borimir Karadzhov was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4.
